Average size is 3 3/4" tall, the heads have a good sized hole in the top that is closed off to the inside so whatever you put in the tops won't fall through to hinged opening. The opening at top of head is appx. 2 3/4" deep x 7/8" diameter. The clasp at the hinge is a flower, each box opens so you store little things in both the top and at the hinged opening...... like rings, jewelry, keys, money, the possibilities are endless! My 2 girls each claimed a set and keep their hair ties, barrettes, and jewelry in them. They look so cute in powder rooms too!! These trinket boxes are made of porcelain and made in China. If you can't afford the real Limoges Boxes from France, enjoy these Fabulous Fakes!
